Note: *Joseph Ackroyd was born in the mid 1700's. We cannot
find a baptism for him in the Doncaster area where he married Hannah Suthers
in 1770. We think it is a possibility that he was born in the Leeds area of
Yorkshire. He was buried at St George's Church (Doncaster) on September 29, 1811 and his
age was given as 67 years.
We have looked for settlement and removal records but there doesn't seem to
be any in existence. Does anyone have any information regarding his birth place?
